The best avenue to get started in learning medical billing and coding would be to attend a college or university and enroll in a Health Information or Technology Program. You will learn the application of coding to include other subjects that will help you in this profession. There are other billing and coding programs that don't require you to have a degree, but l find having a degree allows you to sit for the Certifications with more clinical knowledge.
