It really depends on the employer and whether you are employed as Per Diem, Part Time, Full Time, or Contracted Medical Coder. Many health care systems and private practice offices do offer health and dental but these are most often (but not always) restricted to full time employees. Contracted work with a company in which you are given a 1099 tax form at the end of the year, do not often offer healthcare benefits to these contracted workers.
