Doctors can get sick too! However, there are standard precautions for each type of disease which are set by how each disease is transmitted. There are many preventative steps that are taken to reduce transmission such as masking, gloving, and gowning up when seeing a patient. In addition, hand hygiene is incredibly important before and after seeing a patient. On top of this, vaccinations are incredibly important as this decreases specific disease prevalence in the population. Doctors want to protect you as well as protect themselves and their families!
