The three levels of social work are micro, mezzo, and macro. Micro would be individual case management or therapy. Micro is essentially anything clinical so group therapy is also included. Mezzo would be community organization or more administrative social work which focuses on making change in communities. Macro level social work includes lobbying, political advocacy, and organizational executives. Of course, there are times that all three interact or overlap. For example, someone who is advocating for policy change might interact one-on-one with someone who is effected by policy.
