Conflict theory is a theoretical framework used in social work that focuses on oppression and systems of injustice. In conflict theory, all systems are assumed to be in conflict with each other, thus perpetuating inequality. Conflict theory is used in social work practice and research as a framework to think about how inequality occurs as well as who benefits and who is harmed.
