Think about what you bring to each side of the dance team. Yes, a dance team is about the dancing and you need to have technical skills, endurance, flexibility, timing, etc; all the same things you need to do well as a solo dancer. But you also are a team and a team needs to work together. So, what specific traits make you stand out as a dancer? How could you use what you're good at on the dance floor to help others on your team? Are you really good at teaching combinations or leading stretches or demonstrating stellar technique? Are you great at improvisation or adapting choreography? Then, think about what qualities make you a great teammate? Are you wonderful at conflict resolution or can you make everyone laugh after a disappointing result? Are you a leader or a collaborator? Dance teams need to be strong and together both on the dance floor and off so show that you are a vital part of the team in both arenas.
