Yes, but there remains some argument about how many genes control this. We used to think just one, but now it looks like a handful of genes do most of the work while more than a dozen (I've seen counts as high as 15 or 16) may play at least some role.
I will be interested to see what the biology tutors on the site have to say; I am sure they follow the specific literature more closely than I do.
