Ok. From your description, I'm getting a picture in my mind of a vertical angles problem in which the measurements of the angles formed by two intersecting lines are given and you must find the values of x and y. Recalling that the nonadjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines (vertical angles) are congruent, simply write equations relating each pair of vertical angle measures and then solve them for x and y. I cannot say much more as I don't know which measures go with which angles.
