𝑞 − 𝑝 = 5

 

3x +2y =5

y - x =5

Now solve for y;

y = (-3/2)x + 5/2

y = x + 5

 

To graph y = (-3/2)x + 5/2

plot y-intercept (0, 5/2) then use slope, m= (-3/2) OR 3 down(drop) and 2 to the right(run) to find a second point. Draw the line.

To graph y = x + 5

plot y-intercept (0, 5) then use the slope, m= 1 OR 1 down (drop) and 1 to the right (run) to find a second point. Draw the line.

The solution is (=1, 4)
