Excel question

Enter an IF function to determine if the Trans_Qty in C11 is less than zero. If the Trans_Qty is less than zero, then return the absolute value of the Trans_Qty, or else the cell is left blank. Copy the formula through cell F40.

 

 

I believe this could be the function but am getting an error 

 

=If(Trans_qty<0=value,"")

Your formula should be

if(c11<0,abs(c11),"")

you cannot use the label of a row of cells as an identifier it must be a cell address

you cannot use value as a variable because it will be undefined

you only the if false value listed 

you did not list the if true value of the absolute value of the contents of c11 

as you copy this formula down the row to f 40 the value of c11 will change to that row value
