I see a decreasing sequence of even numbers
8, 4, 2
then it starts over and goes up
has the number between the 4 and 8 (a 6)
So I would guess a 10 might be next.
8, 4, 2, 2, 6, 10
Another idea might be that 8 (÷2) 4 (÷2) 2 , 2 (x3) 6 (x3) 18
for 8 4 2 2 6 18
But who knows what was in the mind of the person who wrote down the sequence.
Unless there is a clear arithmetic relationship, I always find this king of thing more guessing than anything.
