P(t) = P0·(1 + rate)t
- P(t) = population in year t
- P0 = initial (starting) population = 200,000 people
- rate = growth rate expressed as a decimal = 10% = 0.10
- t = years = 5
P(t) = P0·(1 + rate)t
P(5) = 200,000)·(1 + 0.10)5
P(5) = 200,000·(1.1)5
