Consider this three-digit sequence: 478. Is the third digit even or the first digit the largest, AND, is the second digit smallest or the first digit odd?

This is a brain teaser that I need help solving.  I cannot figure out if the question is even one that can be answered.

first digit is 4   second digit is 7   third digit is 8

 

Boolean expression   3RD DIGIT EVEN OR FIRST DIGIT LARGEST   ...True OR false ... Net result: this expression is true.

 

Boolean expression   2ND DIGIT SMALLEST OR FIRST DIGIT ODD ...FALSE OR false ... Net result: this expression is FALSE.

 

Combining the two above expressions with AND results in overall  F A L S E.
