I assume the 3 and the 2 after xs are exponents. So the expression is 24x^3 + 8x^2 - 6x - 2 and you are probably asked to factorize it.

We can write

24x^3 + 8x^2 - 6x - 2 = 8x^2(3x + 1) - 2(3x + 1)

= (3x + 1)(8x^2 - 2)
