-1.3x + 4.9 greater than less than 1.7 - 2.1x

 

Write the solution in both inequality and interval notation.

Isn't -1.3x + 4.9 greater than less than 1.7 - 2.1x a little unclear?  I'll ignore it, consequently.

 

The first inequality (I assume that these are separate problems) is 10x -2 < 5x + 13 so let's collect like terms; we get 5x < 15.  We divide by 5 to get  x < 3.  

In interval notation, the solution is  (-infinitiy, 3).
