Slope is m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
y = mx + b is a way to write equation of a line
y = 5x + 2 has slope m =5
any equation parallel to this must have slope of m = 5
y - y1 = m (x - x1) will also give an equation of line
so from the point given (3, 7) x 1= 3, and y1 =7
y -7 = m (x -3) remember m = 5
y -7 = 5 (x -3) then y - 7 = 5x - 15
y = 5x - 15 + 7
y = 5x - 8 is your equation
