Hi Stevie, let x represent the height of the triangle. Then the base of triangle will be 2x.
Equation:
a(rea) = 1/2 * b(ase) * h(eight)
Substitute:
25 = 1/2 * 2x * x
25 = x2
x = ±5
We can discard the negative response since a triangle cannot have a negative length leg.
The height of the triangle is 5 units.
The base of the triangle is 2 * 5, or 10 units.
