Hi Julie, there are two ways to find the answer to this question.
Method 1:
Change all the fractions to decimals and compare them.
Example:
1/2 = .5, 1/3 = .333
Test:
1/4 = .25, fails because it is not between .333 and .5
Test the other three in the same manner.
Method 2:
Find the common denominator of 1/2 and 1/3 plus one of the four choices.
Example:
Find the common denominator for 1/2, 1/3, and 2/7.
The common denominator is 42, since 2, 3, and 7 are prime numbers you multiply the three together.
Then:
1/2 = 21/42, 1/3 = 14/42, and 2/7 = 12/42.
12/42 is not between 21/42 and 14/42.
Do the same process for the others in the list until you find the one that is between 1/2 and 1/3.
