| 7- 9x/2 | = 18
Either 7-9x/2 = 18 or 7-9x/2 = -18
-9x/2 = 11 -9x/2 = -25
-9x = 22 -9x = -50
x = -22/9 x = 50/9
solution set {-22/9, 50/9}
UNLESS you mistyped the original problem and it should be:
|(7-9x)/2| = 18
Then:
(7-9x)/2 = 18 or (7-9x)/2 = -18
7-9x = 36 7-9x = -36
-9x = 29 -9x = -43
x = -29/9 x = 43/9
Solution set {-29/9, 43/9}

Thank you so much!

You're welcome Daniel.
I hope this made sense.
|18| = 18
|-18| = 18
Get that A. :-)

Is 0= -10 a contradiction since you can't divide by zero?

0x = -10 would be a contradiction because
dividing by zero is undefined.
0 = -10 is just untrue.
Same as saying 5 = 11 or -9 = 7
