Perimeter of a rectangle, P = 2L+2W

 

P = 2L + 2W

 

600 = 2L + 2(5L)

 

600 = 2L + 10L

 

600 = 12L

 

600/12 = 12L/12

 

50 = L   -------------- Length of the rectangle = 50 feet.

 

W = 5L

 

W = 5 (50)

 

W = 250 feet.
