what is 75=1/2(17x-(360-17x))

simplify!

75 = ½[17x - (360 - 17x)];   multiply by two on each side, then:  150 =[17x - (360 - 17x)]

 

now DISTRIBUTE:  150 = 17x - 360 + 17x

 

therefore 510 = 34x   so   x =15
