My strength regarding tutoringis that I can explain complex ideas
One has to get the equations in the form: y = mx + b
where m is the slope.
and b is the y-intercept
The first equation: y + 4x -11=0
add 11 to both sides
y+4x=11
now subtract 4x from both sides
y = -4x +11
we want the y-intercept from this equation. and that's 11
Now for the second equation. -12x-7y=3
first add 12x to both sides
we get -7y = 12x +3
now divide both sides by -7
we get y = -(12/7)x - 3/7
we want the slope from this equation. that is -12/7
the answer we want is y = -(12/7)x + 11
