what is the answer

Suppose that there are two types of tickets to a show: advance and same-day. Advance tickets cost $40 and same-day tickets cost $35. For one performance, there were 55 tickets sold in all, and the total amount paid for them was $2050. How many tickets of each type were sold?

S = number of same day
A = number of advanced
 
S + A = 55                   this is the number of tickets
40S + 35A = 2050        this is the amount paid
 
40S + 40A = 2200        multiply both sides of top by 40
40S + 35A = 2050
 
        5A    =  150        subtract bottom from top
         A     =  30
         S     =  25

Isn't the amount paid = $2050 = 40A + 35S   ???     Thus, A and S values are switched.

It's unusual, but I can imagine a case when same-day-tickets cost less.
