Effective specializing in reading and writing with skill
I didn't use algebra to answer it, but basically this was the process.
1st I divided $960 by 3 and got how many adults this would be which was 320 adults.
2nd I worked my way to 420 people by subtracting adults and replacing them with children. For every adult, there was 3 children that attended.
3rd My first estimate was 280 adults and 120 children, but this was only 400 total people, so I knew I was close, but not quite there.
4th I then took 10 adults away and replaced them with 30 children. This worked: 270 adults + 150 children = 420 people. The adults paid a total of $810 + $150 (children) = $960.00
I guess this was the long way around, but it worked for me.
