How much water did each stop have?

Mrs Storm had 18 gallons of water. She had to spilt the water between 2 stops. The first stop had twice as much water as the second stop. How much water did each stop have?

18 gallons divided by 3 = 6 gallons .  She used twice the amount of water at the first stop 6 gallons x 2 =12gallons   That leaves  6 gallons at the second stop.
