I am a designer who has worked in several areas of design - graphic, web and interior. I am a certified Google Level 2 Educator and Adobe Creative Educator. I am a designer who has worked in several areas of design - graphic, web and interior. I am a certified Google Level 2 Educator and Adobe Creative Educator. I can help you better a number of software packages whether you are a beginner trying to learn the ropes or experienced user trying to solve a problem or complete a project. Some of my programs of expertise include Sketchup, Photoshop & Illustrator, and Google Apps. I also specialize in vocabulary development and work with English language learners.
I love to learn, therefore I love to teach. My students will tell you that my greatest strengths are that I am patient, caring, and very fun! These are important keys to unlock the student's learning potential. As your tutor, I will not only provide excellent instruction with high expectations, I will also help you or your student learn to be resourceful and take control of their own learning.
I am very flexible and believe that where there is a will, there is a way. Everyone can learn, it is only a matter of uncovering how his/her mind processes information. I begin by assessing a student's strengths and weaknesses, interests and motivations in order to create an individualized plan that will help your student be successful and enjoy learning.

We often begin or end with practice drills so that students build accuracy, because in order to succeed in math, you MUST practice again and again. In between, we address the student's weak areas "outside of the box" so that the student loses all fear and intimidation of algebra. This can be achieved using math games or hands on activities. To the student, it doesn't feel like math work, and they begin to open up their understanding. I also provide my students with access to a personalized list of online interactive resources to practice at home or during tutoring. These engage the student and build mental math skills. I encourage parents to require their child to use these resources to counterbalance their video game and television consumption. You will find that the more your student works on his/her own, the less he/she will need me. I operate as a bridge to get your child using math independently.

From there, we work on everything from content areas specific to the SAT, learning to identify question types, timing, fear issues, and test strategy.

Anjel got me started from scratch with Sketchup. We worked on a few intro things relative to my job, and I'm very excited. I'm not a huge fan of rules and now if I want to leave Anjel the review she deserves I'm being instructed to use at least 160 characters. I give Wyzant a big zero for that.

Anjel was thorough but practical in her approach and helped focus the session on my clarified learning objectives.
