Hello! My name is Maanya (or "Mahi"), and I'm a recent graduate of Georgia State University with a degree in Middle Level Education concentrating in Mathematics and Science. I am a certified educator with hands-on classroom experience teaching math, including student teaching in 6th and 8th-grade classrooms. During my student teaching experience, I planned and delivered lessons, worked with students one-on-one and in small groups, and provided additional support to students who were struggling with challenging concepts.
I enjoy working with students across grade levels, from elementary students developing foundational skills to middle and high school students tackling more advanced mathematics. I can provide support in areas such as elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, statistics, and other math topics, as well as test preparation and general academic support. My goal is to break complicated concepts into smaller, manageable steps so students understand not just how to solve a problem, but why the method works.
Every student learns differently, so I tailor my approach to the individual. Tutoring with me is interactive, encouraging, and paced according to each student's needs. Whether we're working through homework, preparing for an upcoming test, filling in learning gaps, or getting ahead in a course, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
Most importantly, I want students to leave our sessions feeling more capable than when they started. My focus is not only on improving grades but also on developing problem-solving skills, independence, and confidence that students can carry into future courses. I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals!
