Hello! My name is Priscilla, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in French. I also hold both a BA and an MA in French, and I have spent significant time in France for both study and travel. My experiences abroad strengthened not only my language skills, but also my appreciation for French culture, communication, and everyday life. I have been tutoring students since 2010 and teaching since 2018, when I taught a beginning-level French course. While I currently teach at the university level, I have successfully tutored students from middle school through adult! Over the years, I have worked with students with different goals and learning styles, and I truly enjoy helping students gain confidence in their language abilities.

I believe language learning works best when students feel comfortable, supported, and actively engaged in the learning process. Because every student learns differently, I tailor my lessons to individual needs and goals, whether a student wants help with grammar, pronunciation, conversation practice, writing, homework support, or preparing for exams. I like to use a variety of activities in my lessons to make learning interactive and practical. For example, students may practice conversation through real-world topics like weather, travel, or daily routines, write creative stories to strengthen grammar and vocabulary, or work through cultural materials such as recipes, music, and articles. My goal is to help students understand how the different parts of the language connect while building confidence and fluency over time.

As both an instructor and a student myself, I understand that learning a language can sometimes feel intimidating or frustrating. I strive to create a patient and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. Whether you are a beginner starting French for the first time or someone looking to strengthen existing skills, I would be excited to help you reach your goals!
