My son is going into the 3rd grade is at a Kindergarten reading level. I am a full time single mom, work graveyard and am in nursing school during the say so its extremely hard for me to teach him when Im trying to teach myself as well. My goals for him is I wanted him to catch up. He was a COVID kid for Kindergarten & some of 1st grade and its just kept him behind.

My daughter is in 4th grade and her latest Diebels assessment has her at above average for accuracy but right at the line for below average for fluency and comprehension. Therefore, the purpose of this tutoring is to increase her fluency and comprehension.

I’m hoping to find a once-a-week reading tutor for my son (7). He’s about to finish up 1st grade and has struggled with reading this year. He was diagnosed with “attention and concentration deficit” and has a hard time focusing. He does have a 504, but I don’t think it was very helpful. At school this last year, he failed to get work done on a regular basis, and while he can read, I think he should be further along. He relies on one-on-one assistance to keep him on task and help him work through giving up – I feel he lacks confidence and when something is hard he quickly shuts down and gives up. I would love for him to enter 2nd grade a more confident reader! We are looking for something 1-2 times a week in the late afternoon/evening (weekdays).
