We have a wonderful 5th grader (headed to middle school next year). She is totally active (club basketball, softball, and band). She got tested at DU a couple of year ago and has dyslexia. Main challenges are decoding, organization, and help with tools to be successful. She is on a plan with Jefferson County school system. We are looking for 1-2 hours per week, then create a study plan that the family can implement as a family (and FYI we are a split household family) over the summer. We could do in home, or public place. Leaning towards the in home. Reading, writing, and organization are her primary challenges. She works very hard and normally is just at or just below grade level in reading and she writes information as how she thinks it sounds so that is some of the decoding.
