121 Dyslexia lessons
We are seeing Sheryl for specific dyslexia tutoring using the Barton Method. Sheryl has obtained a significant amount training in dyslexia specific reading intervention (that will also work well for other children who have difficulty reading).This type of tutoring is rare to find in our area (Central/Southern IL). Sheryl interacts very well with my 8 year old son who does have some issues with focus. He seems to respond to her methods well. She makes the lesson fun and interactive.

Leslie is trained to use the Wilson Method of Decoding and Encoding (WADE) which is approved by the International Dyslexia Association. As my daughter goes through each step in the process, she is more and more confident in her ability to sound out words, her reading pace has increased significantly, and her reading comprehension is allowing her to be curious and thoughtful rather than frustrated and angry. Her teachers have noticed a big change as well.

With the help of teachers at his school we realized that our son has a form of dyslexia called auditory dyslexia. (Inability to distinguish between similar sounds) We found Miss Becky on wyzants and seemed to connect with her almost immediately. Our son is very creative and Miss Becky who is herself an artist was able to reach him in ways that grabbed his attention in a firm but loving way. It was not long before Miss Becky became "Our Miss Becky".
