asked 04/24/24Why do I have to input payment info to speak with a potential tutor?
I have not agreed to any service yet and am reaching out to a potential tutor to see if they will work for me. If I am required to put in payment info before agreeing to use the service I will not be using Wyzant.

Yes, you will need to have a payment account on file to communicate with tutors. The moment you remove the payment method, the communications with tutors are blocked, and tutors cannot communicate back, either. This helps keep tutors from taking the leads that Wyzant paid good money for with SEO as their own. Additionally, it keeps students from taking advantage of tutors. This is the case for most digital content services and subscriptions.
