This problem, 6x/7 (1/3), could be (6x/7)(1/3) which is a product of fractions. Then the answer is 6x/21 which reduces to 2x/7.
This interpretation of the problem agrees with the description of "Multiplying Fractions".

change the mixed number 7 & 1/3 to improper fraction, which is 22/7
6(22/7) or (6/1)*(22/7) = 132/7 = 18 & 6/7
mixed number where 18 is whole number and 6/7 is a fraction
