In the Ambrose household, there are five people. Each person has one shower each day and each shower uses 110 L of water. Water costs $2.57 per kilolitre (kL)

a) How much is the annual water bill for the Ambrose’s showers?

b) If the Ambrose family install a water-efficient showerhead that uses 60% less

water, how much will the family save on water costs each year?

Hi Sarah, 5 family member x 1 shower per day x 110 liters per shower x $2.57 per Kiloliter divided by 1000 liters per kiloliter (you divide by 1000 to convert cost per kiloliter to a cost per liter) 5 x 1 x 110 x 365 x 2.57 / 1000 = $515.93
