Are you struggling with Sign Languange

Is the Professor going too fast? Is the professor overwhelming you? Are you having difficulties communicating or interacting with the deaf/hard of hearing community? Is there confusion between American Sign Language, English Sign Language or even grammar?

Well, I am fully deaf and I start to learn sign language when I was three years old. My family don't sign. Growing up, I had learned about PSE ( Pidgin Signed English). When I am in college, I learned about ASL (American Sign Language). When I saw my 2 deaf professors who sign ASL. I thought it is more different than PSE. I remember one of the student in my class that she don't understand what deaf professor sign and he not signing that fast. It is really hard of hearing people. I understand that. They know I am deaf, that why they want to do study group and learn a lot of ASL before we had a test. I know it hard for them. I agree with Sherri.

There are differences in sign language. ASL is American Sign Language where phrases are signed and words are grouped. It does not follow grammatical rules. Signing Exact English is just what is says, you sign the words as they are spoken and include endings .It follows grammatical rules. The Rochester Method used only fingerspelling in a condensed way.
