It can be very difficult to decide which position is right for you. Speaking from experience, I was pretty short until my junior and senior year of high school. Most times it comes down to your skill set. If you are shorter and you have better fundamentals in defense, more often than not, you will be best in a libero position or a defensive specialist position.
How do I know which volleyball position I should play?

If you're an average, all-around player, it can be difficult to hone in on your skills to best improve your team's overall performance. Volleyball is a sport where height is favored. If you are shorter than 5'7", usually libero is a good option for you. Because shorter players are closer to the ground, they have more ease digging and sliding to get to the ball, and everything is fair play as long as it doesn't touch the floor. For taller players, figure out if you are more comfortable setting or spiking. It is crucial for setters to have control of the ball in order to give your team an offensive advantage.
