Use Charles' Law
V1/T1 = V2/T2
V1 = 2.59 L
T1 = 21 °C → convert to Kelvin = 21 + 273 = 294 K
V2 = ?
T2 = 98 °C → convert to Kelvin = 98 + 273 = 371 K
Rearrange the above equation to solve for V2
V2 = V1T2 / T1 = (2.59 L x 371 K) / 294 K = 3.27 L
Charles' Law states that the volume and temperature are directly proportional. Since the temp is increased from 21 °C to 98 °C, the volume should also increase (2.59 L → 3.27 L).
