when conducting FEA analysis, the material from which the component to be analyzed must be entered into the module. explain which material properties are important and the impact to both the study and the obtained results if an incorrect material is simulated

For linear elastic analysis, there are only two numbers to be concerned with: E, the Modulus of Elasticity, and v, Poisson's Ratio. All other values are basically irrelevant to the calculation.

Now when you want to figure factor of safety, etc. then yes, you need to know what YOUR material condition is but that is merely part of engineering. Results are still valid.

For a linear analysis, you need to have an accurate modulus of elasticity, Ε, Poisson's ratio, ν, and the Modulus of Rigidity, G, which can be derived from E and ν.

Stress is calculated from strain, and strain is a function of the above properties.

If your material properties are not correct, your strains will be incorrect and, hence, the stresses will be incorrect.
