How to Make Dashed Lines Appear in Autocad?

When loading Linetypes in Autocad, the lines don't appear dashed or dotted or any repetition they should have.

It's usually the annotation scale or the linetype scale:

-You can change the annotation scale by clicking on the drop-down on the bottom right corner of the screen and selecting a larger scale.

-To change the line-type scale, use LTSCALE command and input a higher value. Or change it for the individual object in the properties (hotkey for properties menu is Ctrl+1).

And then regen command (REA or RE)

I would check the following:

1. Assign a line type to the layer you are working with through the layer properties manager (you can also do this to individual lines if you are not working with layers)
2. If the line appears to be solid after assigning a line type then check the PSLT, MSLT and LTScale. The recommended is 1.0,1.0 and 1.0 respectively, but can be adjusted to your preferred graphics.

In this video, I mention using Annotation Scale in the model space to allow us to see the dashed lines (or any other linetype).

I mention the Global Scale Factor and how in my opinion, it's a temporary solution because it makes the lines appear wrong on a paperspace (layout).

Finally, I mention the linetype scale for an individual element that can also help you get the linetype appear properly.
