it helps to have things loaded to it that are for starting projects. I might want certain families and line styles and annotations and view templates and views done for me so when I start a new project I open my RTE file that I created and save it as my new project and I dont have to waste time inserting and loading and setting all of those settings again. If you need help learning how to do this contact me. I can teach you.

Revit Help
Typically, Revit templates are utilized by Architect's and Engineer's offices to maintain a consistent look in their contract drawings. Specifics related to font styles, line weights, arrow size/shape, end of line conditions, weld symbols, view templates, etc. A & E offices put a lot of emphasis on how their finished drawings look, and how accurately they represent the design intent. Ensuring what their operators put into each project is what they firm want is what they use .rte (Revit template files) for.
