Convert Autocad DWG to OBJ, FBX or similar?

How can i convert an autocad dwg or dxf file to a more 'common' format like OBJ, FBX, 3DS, etc. ? I have tried a free software called abviewer 10 but the exported file is always empty.

Hello!

I would recommend exporting the file to an .stl and then converting the .stl to an .obj. Although, depending on the software you are using, .stl may be sufficient. The command in autocad to export to other formats is just EXPORT. Then under types of file, hit the drop down menu and select lithography (.stl). The EXPORT command can also covert to FBX.

Let me know if that works. If it doesn't it may be an issue in the file itself and not the conversion process.
