- Do one of the following to start the Maya install:
- If you are installing from USB media, insert it into your drive.
- If you are installing from a download package, extract the Maya packages from the compressed file.
- Open a shell as a super user (using su -) and navigate to the directory where you extracted the packages.
- Note: Recent Linux distributions may require a full super user environment to run the installer as root. You can use su - to obtain the proper level. (Note the trailing hyphen.)
- Type ./setup and press Enter.
- This starts the Maya Installer.
- Follow the instructions in the Installer to install the product.
- For example, in the License information window, do the following:
- Enter your 11-digit Serial Number.
- Enter your Product key.
- Select your License type: Standalone or Network.
- If you select the Network license type, enter your license server name in the Server name field that appears. Contact your network administrator to find your license server name.
- Note: If you are using standalone licensing on Fedora 14 and beyond with Consistent Network Device Naming (CNDN) enabled, see the section about this in Additional Linux notes.
- Click Continue.
- In the final window that confirms a successful installation, click Done
