Is there a contextual difference between раздражать (кого-то) and досаждать (кому-то)?

Is there a contextual difference between раздражать (кого-то) and досаждать (кому-то)?

I agree with Maria and would like to add that the verb "Раздражать" can mean "irritate" and require Accusative case noun; the verb "досаждать" (make somebody angry, create troubles for somebody, hurt someone, chase somebody) is more old-fashioned, belong to literature style; requires Dative case form of a noun.

раздражать - to irritate (the meaning greatly depends on context)

  1. this person's behavior irritates me (he is not doing anything to me, but he is too noisy, or too shy, to assertive or too shy) he just grates on my nerves.
  2. this fabric irritates my skin (эта материя раздражает кожу)


досаждать (кому-то) - to importune

Когда кто-то вам досаждает, это может вас раздражать
