PMP specializing demand / resource management and schedule creation
This is probably a subjective answer but to me, the advantage of using a Gantt chart is to allow a viewer to see alot of information about the schedule / tracking of a project quickly. If your Gantt chart is configured to show things such as current schedule, baseline schedule, milestones progress etc, you can quickly see the overall health of your schedule without having to look at dozens or hundreds of individual tasks. In addition, Gantt charts are very useful in presentations as alot of people at executive levels respond better to seeing a chart / graph rather then a bunch of date.

Thank you. Your answer is very informative. Let me add some more information. I work a lot with Gantt chart software and am aware of the benefits it can bring to your projects. I would only like to provide with some extra benefits. Today, almost every robust Gantt chart solution offers not only tasks scheduling and management but also resource management, cost management, team management and collaboration. Some very robust apps offer time tracking. So if you choose a Gantt chart tool for your project, rest assured you will have almost all details under your full control. A few solid solutions that I tried: GanttPRO, Wrike, MS Project (doubtless, very very efficient but very very difficult to learn).04/01/19
