This code separates a string into tokens and stores them in an array of strings, and then compares a variable with the first home ... why isn't it working?

String is an object, so the String variable is a reference to the object. The == operator will compare the two String references to see if they're pointing to the same object. The String.equals class will compare the value of the two strings.
