I'd like to provide an answer for these questions.
Q1: Is Deviation. Deviation is one of the magnetic compass errors. It has to do with the magnetic fields produced by metals in the aircraft. This is typically why the magnetic compass is installed far away from the avionics or gauges. It is also why you'll find a deviation card near the compass. The card will provide you with bearing corrections to use during flight planning.
Q2: Is Magnetic Course. Aircraft operating in the same area will use magnetic course as a standard to insure proper altitude separation. Please see FAR 91.159 for VFR altitudes and 91.179 for IFR altitudes.
