Since you gave us a list of points we can use the point-slope formula to make an equation. The point-slope formula is (y-a)=m*(x-b) where m is the slope, a and b are x and y coordinates of any point on the line. Using the two points (5,8) and (10,16) the slope is found by (16-8)/(10-5)=8/5=1.6=m. Lets use the first point to say that a=8 and b=5. Plugging these into the point-slope formula gives (y-8)=1.6*(x-5) ==> y-8=1.6*x-8 ==> y=1.6x. If you need x gallons of fertilizer, you will need y teaspoons of concentrated solution.
