Finding the x intercepts

I am needing some help with finding the x intercepts of 2x^2-12x-6.  I get messed up when there is a leading coefficient.

This problem is not a good example because the roots are not rational. You have to use the quadratic formula.

2x^2-12x-6=0

divide all terms by 2

x^2-6x-3=0

(6±√(36+12)/2

(6±√48)/2

(6±4√3)/2

3±2√3 are the roots
