How to put formula on Excel?

Question

original formula: 3w+200=14(h-18)

w=14/3h-452/3

How to I put this equation on Excel? Where do I have to put parenthesis?

Please help. Thank you.

3w + 200 = 14 (h - 18)

 

SOLVE FOR "W"

3w + 200 = 14h - 252

3w = 14h - 252 - 200

3w = 14h - 52

w = (14h - 52) / 3

 

EXCEL FORMULA

= ((14 * h) - 52) / 3

Your example is an algebraic expression... I understand that you are wanting to solve the equation and find values for h and w....
 
However, If you are using Microsoft Excel with that formula entered 'as is', you must define a value for h and a value for w (by entering the values for each into their very own cell location)... you can not enter that formula into Excel as it is presented without an existing array of numeric data somewhere in or on the spreadsheet defining the alpha letters used in the formula .... numbers on the spreadsheet refer to a row, and alpha letters on the spreadsheet refer to a column..  example: A1 refers to Column A,  Row 1..
