the first inequality is easily solved:  first divide by two:  3x - 2 < x, then 2x < 2, so x < 1.

 

the second inequality is easily changed, by dividing by -3, to x > 3.

 

Solution:  x < 1 ∪ x > 3

 

Using interval notation, (-infinity,1) ∪ (3,infinity)
